Could CRP do this?

Thanks for a brilliant plugin

I am looking for a search function which could do this:

(1) Take a user’s profile (stored in a custom post) which in my case is composed entirely of categories and tags as the search criteria/terms.

(2) Return a hierarchical list of users that share at least one of the searchers cats/tags.

I know CRP is not designed for this but could it be done?

I may have asked this before but cannot find the post.
