• Unfortunately, there appears to be a major issue with the business location lookup. I believe Google has changed something and the developer of this plugin hasn’t had a chance to fix it yet. Many questions about this on the developer’s forum, but no solution.

What’s the issue you’re having? Most issues with the lookup field is because there is a JS conflict with another theme or plugin in the admin of WP.

It would be great if you could have given us the chance to provide a solution for you rather than jumping to a negative review.

Yes, by your reply in your own forum, you do not have a solution for this yet. Judging by the number of people who have the same issue, I felt the need to let others know not to waste a lot of time to get it to work. I’m an experienced designer and I know how to debug a plugin. I would be more than happy to prepay for a version that allows us to paste in our Google business location instead of having your plugin search for it. Clearly that is where the error lies. When you are able to fix that important piece of code, I would love to try it again.

I’m definitely going to be implementing that in a coming version. When it’s released I’d love for your to evaluate it again and perhaps update your review.

I will be more than happy to eval as soon as you are ready. I have dozens of sites in need of this plugin and look forward to its success.

Devin, I’m having a problem with the location look up also. It doesnt find the business even though the G+ page is years old with tons of good reviews. It finds every page under the sun, but our business.

Is there another way to get it to load the reviews? Possibly from the URL?

    I’d appreciate your feedback.

Hi Tom, can you provide a link to the G+ page for local testing?

    Thank you, it’s below.

Hi Tom, (and yideaz, this would most likely apply to your situation as well).

It looks like the issue is that the Google API is not “auto suggesting” your business. The widget currently uses the Auto Suggest feature to find businesses. You can see the problem live on Google by going here:
    https://www.google.com/business/

Then click the big blue button in the top right that says “Get on Google”. Type your business name into the search field and you’ll see that nothing comes up. But if you hit “enter” then several similar businesses come up including yours.

The bottom line is that Google makes it fairly difficult to locate a business location id. We’re continuing to look for the absolute easiest way to do that for end users, but we are a bit limited to what the Google API makes available. Watch for updates on that.

    Thanks!

How can i make Google auto suggest it? It’s not a new page and it’s a brick and mortar business.

Is there something i can do on my end?

    Thanks for the help.

I wish I had that information. But hopefully as we dig more into this we’ll have a way to either search for your location id VERY easily, or enhance the search widget so that all of this is unnecessary.
