    Hello!

After download I get a scrambled/corrupted Excel-File content. The downloaded Excel is unusable.

In log I get Notice: ob_end_clean(): failed to delete buffer. No buffer to delete in /home/stbmwt/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/simple-download-monitor/includes/sdm-download-request-handler.php on line 194

Not shure if this notice is connected to the corruptioned file after download.

Anyone with an idea for this?

    Thank you!

    Greetings Deexperte

    Hi,

Have you set up an excel file for downloading in your site? Is this file in raw format like file.xls or have you zipped the file?

    Thank you

    Hello!
I uploaded the original file.xls (not zipped) to media.
From there I selected it in setting a download.
    I setted to use PHP.

After downloading via shortcut in a page file does not have the original content.
    Same with file.png.

    Mime-Type for application/..xls is setted.

Let me know if these are the instructions you followed force-a-file-to-download?

    Thank you

Can you disable all other plugins except ours. Then carry out a test. Let me know what happens.

    Thank you

I just finished carrying out a test in my dev site and it works for me. This is what I did.

    1) Uploaded to Media an excel file with plenty of content including functions and more.
    2) Created a new download and uploaded the excel file.
    3) Enabled PHP Dispatch or redirect.
    4) Added the shortcode to a post.
    5) Open the new post with the Download Now! button in a different browser.
    6) Click on the Download Now! and it downloaded to my downloads folder in my laptop.
    7) Open the downloaded excel file with out any issues.

From the above I can confirm that this feature is working. Perhaps your excel file is corrupted. Can you test a different excel file. Also what type of server is your site hosted in? Are you running the latest WordPress version? Are all your plugins and theme up to date? What PHP version is running in your server?

Can you also go to Tools -> Site Health in your WordPress admin panel and run a diagnostic test of your site.

Let me know if the above helps you.

    Thank you

    Hello!
Remember: I go the same issue with a clean .png.

All things up to date. PHP 7.2.

When I open the URL of the download I get the same issue. See the screen shots.

If I download the files direct from Media the files are fine. Only if I use the Plugin I get corruptet files.

Are the special requirements with PHP extensiones?

    Hello again!

    State:
    1. playing arround with different .xls and .xlsx –> corruptet file allways
    2. .pdf —> OK
    3. Getting Notice: ob_end_clean() failed to delete buffer

    Question:
    1. Are the special requirements with PHP extensiones?

Hi, unfortunately I can’t reproduce this issue in my dev site. I have submitted a message to the developers to investigate further this issue.

    Thank you

    Hi,

Are there special requirements with PHP extensiones?

Can you provide more information? I am not really sure what you mean?

    Thank you

Please ask your developers for that. They should know about.

    Thank you!
