    Nice plugin – thank you!
Using X Theme and Cornerstone I face the following issue:
Saving a page with an email address with cornerstone editor erases the email address and saves the string “*protected email*” instead.
Maybe its the same in Visual Composer but didn’t try it out.
    Thank you for your Support!

    Any ideas?

I just installed WP Mailto Links and had serious compatibility problems, both with Cornerstone and with LayerSlider plugin.

Cornerstone Editor wouldn’t launch, and LayerSlider output disappeared.

I got rid of those problems by adjusting the WP Mailto Links settings:

    Under “Also protect”, uncheck
<head>-section by replacing emails with protection text *” (important) and
RSS feed by replacing emails with protection text *” (this I don’t think matters)
(I kept the third option unchecked as well)

This solved my issues with Cornerstone Editor and LayerSlider.

Then I read your post, but in my hands there are no problems with email addresses, at least not on pages. Was yours on a post or a page?

Salilou, I am not sure your issue has anything to do with Cornerstone. Have you looked at the “Protect plain emails” settings in the WP Mailto Links panel? If “Yes, protect plain emails with protection text” is checked, all email addresses entered as plain text will be replaced by “*protected email*”. This is normal behaviour. To remedy that, you could

    a) manually replace the email addresses with mailto links, which will be both functional and protected, or

    b) check the “Yes, convert plain emails to mailto links” option, which will cause the plugin to do that work for you.

    c) check “No, keep plain emails as they are”. Then your plain-text email addresses will be kept, but in an unprotected state, leaving them accessible to spam robots.

    Thank you
Now the Cornerstone editor does not even save any more if an mailto link is within the content.

    Which action did you take?

I do not have this issue with Cornerstone. Maybe you have a conflict involving yet another plugin, or you are using a different CS setting (stack for example. I am using “Integrity”).

    My CS version: 1.3.3
    My WP version: 4.7.3
    My WPMtL version: 2.1.6

Thank you for your help, I decided to not use the plugin, because there were no replies to this thread for 7 weeks.

I meant: did you try any of the actions I suggested in my previous reply? And what happened?

Please also note that Cornerstone Editor sometimes fails to save although the green exclamation banner appears. If you get an “unsaved changes” alert from your browser when attempting to reload the page directly after a “save” then the editor has lost contact with the server and you will have to go on with the reload to reconnect. This has occurred to me quite independently of WPMtL.
