I have been getting Core WordPress Files Were Modified alerts for the following files:

    .user.ini
    htaccess
    wordfence-waf.php
    wp-admin/error_log

I see nothing in these files that looks amiss, and have reinstalled WP, but still get these alerts.

    What am I missing? THANKS!

Wondering if Sucuri is not getting along with WordFence firewall. If so, it’s the first time I have experienced this.

@jess888 You just need to whitelist the files after verifying they are not malicious ??

It’s flagging them because they are not part of the core WordPress, so you should back up, remove any that aren’t necessary OR whitelist them if they are intended to be there. Hope this helps!

How to figure out what are the ‘modified files’?
