• Calendar version: Version 2.3.11
    Frontend Submission version: Version 1.2.2
Timezone setting on calendar: set to New York (which is correct)

    Here are some examples:

    Example 1
This should show March 8th 6p-8p but shows March 8th 11p – March 9th 1am. This was a visitor submission (originally)

    Example 2

This should be March 8th 630-730p but shows March 8th at 1130pm-12:30pm. This is a repeating event input by website admin.

    Example 3
    This should be March 9th 7pm-9pm, March 9th 12a-2a.

Is there another avenue for support for those with paid versions of calendar? Not all events are incorrect so I don’t understand. It looks like the ones that are incorrect are 5 hours off. Can you guide me on how to resolve?

Also, it marked all events as free when they aren’t.

    Hi,

A lot has changed since version 1.14, features have changed and now each event can have its own time zone, so maybe this causes changes in the details.

    Hello,

Can you explain this setting on your calendar?

Display events in calendar time zone
If this box is checked events will appear in the calendar time zone with time zone information displayed on the event details page.

It’s currently not checked and settings have New York for time zone. I can’t remember if 1.14 had this option or what happens if i check that box.

The affected events (5 hours off) don’t have a timezone set at all. What do you advise me to do in this case?

Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

This option was not available in earlier versions, if events do not have a time zone, then it would be best to activate this option.

    Three more questions:
    1. If I check that option, how (if any) would it affect the events that already have a correct time?
    2. If the checking of that box messes up the existing events, can I uncheck it and the events return to the way they are (off 5 hours) or are they set and I’d have to manually undo (or something else)?
    3. On a separate note, how would you recommend older (in the past) events be handled? Are they usually deleted after a certain amount of time or archived or something like that? I just worry the 7,000 events both old and new are dragging speed of calendar down. Are there options from the backend to manage old events?

    Thank you!

I have same issue – after upgrading to 2.3.12 – individual events are showing up 6 hours later than originally posted. Time zone is set correctly in both WordPress and Calendar.

If I check “Display events in calendar time zone”, then repeating events which were still showing correctly, then become 6 hours earlier than they should.

Also when I create a new event, the default time showing is 6 hours later than local time.

It looks like I might have to go through every single event and manually change?

It seems that even though the time zone is correctly set, events are being listed in UTC instead of local time.

What version did you update from? Apparently the version I upgraded from was so old and not all events had a timezone. I was hoping if I checked the “display events in calendar timezone” that would correct issue.

I’ve manually updated many events but not all. I’m worried if I check that box I’ll undo all the manual fixes I’ve done and then not be able to revert back. This is just highly frustrating as its been a month waiting for answers. Very hard to run a site/calendar in this manner.

version 1.10.11. Same problem – there wasn’t a time zone. We did some manual fixes, then tried the “display events…” It didn’t affect the ones we fixed, but all the repeat events that had been displaying correctly changed to 6 hours earlier. When we unchecked it, everything reverted back.

For some reason, the calendar plugin thinks it is Greenwich Mean Time, instead of the time zone that is selected in WP and the Calendar. We are manually updating each event with the correct time and time zone. Time consuming, but once it’s done, we’ll be OK going forward.

For other sites I use The Events Calendar plugin. But this one was already set up, so….
