Core dumps and high IO in cpanel

Hm, this is very unusual and very concerning for us, although we do have to admit we don’t have a clue what might be going on.

Is (y)our plugin up to date? What problems are you experiencing exactly?

Have you contacted your hosts about this? It could be a completely unrelated server issue (it was when this happened to me).

Sorry for not updating this thread but after deactivating WordPress Related Posts, this problem went away.

I’m very diligent in updating my plugins. I’m still using the same plugins minus WRP and it’s all ok now, I don’t know how I can be of any help. Anyway, I’ve switched to nrelate for now. Thanks for the help anyway.

Edit: yes, I’ve contacted my host and this is their reply:

The core files which are the result of incorrectly finished php processes has been found in the account. This can be the result of WordPress update and the activity of multiple WordPress plugins which require too much server memory.

Score queries seems to be problem as they consume too much CPU.

Ex:
SELECT target.post_id, sum(target.weight * log(6935 / least(6935, freqs.freq))) as score

top indicates that mysqld reaches almost ~300% of %CPU with the plugin activated while visiting posts on a WordPress v3.6.1 installation and WP Related Posts v2.9 plugin.
