• In v.4 pro, in [Presentation>Captions], the following appears in the “Copyright” box:

    Copyright %year%, %admin_name%

My Copyright at the bottom of my page only reads:

    Copyright 2006,

I went to [Users>Your Profile] and added my first and last names to the appropriate boxes, as they were previously blank. Thought that would fix me up, but it did not.

I then went to [Users>Authors & Users] and checked the line where I am listed, (the only one listed) then checked below “Set the role of checked users to administrator” and updated, just in case there was any ambiguity.

No change. Anyone know how to set the copyright line to display the admin name as well as the date?

    Thanks.

  • in users / profiles, you need to edit the way your name is displayed (the drop down below the name, etc.). also, your login needs to be admin.

OK, thanks, made the change to the drop down menu, now how do I get my login to be “admin”, that looks like an un-editable item?

I log in as admin to my blog but use my name for posts copyright, etc.

    Under your WP Users menu

    Username: admin
    First Name: Your first name
    Last Name: Your last name
    Nickname: Set to your name
Set Display Name as: select how your want you name to show on your blog posts, copyright, etc.

I’ve yet to understand why/how some users get this to be different from the default. I’m assuming an autoinstaller somewhere is wrecking things up. Anyway, you can always “force” the notice via the captions screen.

Thanks Mike, yes, thats exactly how I now understand it, BUT, my username is NOT “admin”, this is an established blog, how can I change my username to be “admin”?

That is what I am trying to do, force the proper display via the captions screen, but I understand that I must have a login name of “admin” to do this.

    Possible?

the only way is to edit the user via sql, e.g. from mysqladmin. do this only if you know what you’re doing. else, leave as is, and “hard-code” the copyright notice from the captions, i.e. Copyright %year%, whatever.

Ah, now I understand the “force” meant here, I fixed per your suggestion Denis, thanks.
