• Hello

recently, my wordpress blog was hacked into and they might have messed up part of my mysql database (or added a script somewhere that won’t allow me to create a new instance of wordpress to access the current database)

Therefore, I have to start from scratch again. Is it possible however to copy all the posts and categories from the current damaged database and paste/import them into a fresh new database through phpmyadmin?

can someone provide step-by-step intructions to doing this.

    thanks for the help

    and god bless..

  • Review Backing_Up_Your_Database but only select the tables you want to backup. Remember, at 2.3, when you write a post, you could be affecting the wp_posts, wp_terms, wp_term_relationships, wp_term_taxonomy, and wp_postmeta tables.

Then read Restoring_Your_Database_From_Backup for the restore part.

You might want to check with your host to see if they have a backup of your database from some previous date…

I actually was using an older version of wordpress — possibly 2.0 something.. not the latest version, unfortunately.

The weird part is that they must have inputted a script on to the mysql database where if you upgraded or install the latest wordpress, it would redirect it to the hacker page.
