Copy WP Site To A NEW URL Directory

    Hi,

    I was wondering how and also if it is possible to copy a site which I have on a URL to another URL?

    I would like to change the content, change a plugin and leave the theme and structure intact.

    Well, it sounds like you just need the theme. In that case you can just upload the theme to the new host/domain using FTP and activate it there. Like that the theme = structure stays the same. Or did you mean something else? To keep widgets in the same position but leave the content behind I would not know a nice solution…

    In short, I would like to duplicate the site on a different URL

    Just use a new WordPress installation and your theme. Like that you have the same site and no content. Other option is to copy all files and the database. The latter is a full copy.

    It’s the later that I look for.

    So will give that a try, However, do I need to amend any of the settings in the backend, and if so HOW?
