• I have been surfing this and other forums and the more I read the more I get confused!

Can anybody tell me if there is a plugin that protects my text from being copied in any way. Reading I noted that several will disable copy paste etc., but if someone knows what they are doing it is still up for grabs. so can this be blocked with a plug+in? and if so what is the name.

Ideally it should also nto stop the SEO from being in top condition.

Appreciate any help in this jungle.

  • Nope – anything you put on the internet can be copied.

o dear, copied by rewriting it or by copy paste? or other ways?

I saw a similar discussion over on the WordPress group on LinkedIn.

There really isn’t a way to prevent someone from copying content on your page.

Even if you disable right-click — they can still view the page source which will provide access to the data.

If a website is copying your content without your permission, try filing a DMCA takedown notice with their web host: https://www.ipwatchdog.com/2009/07/06/sample-dmca-take-down-letter/

    Thanks Lorenzo. useful.

Boring that with all the advancement in technology such a simple thing is not possible! Or?

This also mans that the guys who offer you expensive plugins clamming to protect you are not really protecting you?

No, it’s not possible and yes, those plugins are ripping you off. The only way to absolutely prevent copying is to not put it online.

can you slow them down? Stop the not nerdy folk?

Some people think that disabling right-click does that, but personally, I think that’s a big mistake. It seriously annoys users, creates major problems for users with accessibility issues, and in some countries may be illegal (on accessibility grounds). IMHO, that’s totally not worth that kind of tradeoff.

    thanks mr yogi.

does anybody know if you can you slow them down? Stop the not nerdy folk?

Alternatively how do you make a waterproof case to prove it is your copyright (as suggested by Lorenzo Orlando Caum above)? How do I prove I wrote it and not that I copied it from the thief? Can you register the text somewhere? or?
