Copy/paste to Chrome on Mac loses formatting

  • Copy/paste to a WordPress page in Chrome on Mac loses all paragraph breaks and formatting. But copy/paste to a page in Firefox or Safari on Mac works correctly, as does Chrome on Windows. The tested copy source came from both Chrome and Word.

    Tested with a virgin install of WordPress in Local (no plugins, Twenty Twenty theme):

    Wordpress 5.5.1
    Apache 2.4.43
    PHP 7.4.1
    MySQL 8.0.16
    Mac OS 10.15.5
    Chrome 85.0.4183.121
    Firefox 81.0
    Safari 13.1.1
    Word 16.39

    Also tested in Chrome on Mac and Windows with a very non-virgin WordPress 5.5.1 on Bluehost (not shown in the screen recording).

  • Did you clean your browser’s cache? or try loading the site in a different mac? This seems more like a browser problem, not a WordPress one.

    Thanks. Clearing the cache and cookies didn’t solve it, I’ll look into another Mac.

    Yeah, if it is only Chrome on Mac with the issue, it probably is not a WordPress related issue
