Copy & Paste post urls to Facebook shows wrong image and/or post

  • Hi, I’ve been reading and rereading the support forums, but i’m a novice and I need some help. When I copy and past a post url to Facebook, it does not display the correct image and sometimes it does not display the correct page text. I installed the Facebook Featured Image and Open Graph Meta Tags plug-in and see no difference. Thank you for your help.

  • Facebook often caches the images from the first time you pasted it there. Try some of the tricks on this page to clear FB;s cache / specify a featured image:

    Gwyn, thank you so much for this. I did follow the link, read the article and attempt to use the debugger, which is a very insightful thing! I got in over my non-technical head for a while, but a friend helped me out.

    Now the pages & posts display correctly, except for the share image when posting the link in the comments sections on Facebook. The debugger mentioned that the og: image is not the right size so I will try to fix that. If you know where I would find the setting for that, it would help me out.
