Copy Customizer Settings from Parent Theme to Child Theme
-
Creating a child theme is not that hard, but I always find it annoying and time consuming. It’s never a task I look forward to. With the Child Theme Configurator, now I don’t have to worry about it.
I was nervous about losing a bunch of Customizer settings that were already applied in my parent theme. But this plugin provides a single checkbox that takes care of all that for you.
Not only did it copy over the Customizer settings from my parent theme, but also from a few plugins that added Customizer options, as well as all of my Additional CSS.
It created a perfect replica for me, so now I can dive into the child theme and update some template files.
The UI is simple, with easy to follow step by step instructions. But you also have advanced options, should you choose to expose them. I can’t recommend this plugin enough for a quick & easy way to create a child theme.
Used with the Twenty Thirteen theme from WordPress.
