There is a multi-upload mod for 4images that might be useful to you……..

    where kidokitty?

    tnx!

Try phpwebgallery! it works with 10 000 pictures in the gallery!
If you are interested, I did also a plugin to integrate wordpress and phpwebgallery ( a nice and very easy to use and install photo gallery software, with multiple user and a lot of features ). It works also with wordpress 2.0. The integration is invisible to your visitors. Have a look here! You can download from here

I used Coppermine for quite a while (I have about 1500 pix and growing) but got a little frustrated with the lack of ability to customize. After hunting around a lot I settled on Plogger, which integrates very nicely with WordPress. (Despite the name it’s a gallery, not a photoblog.) It only uploads one picture at a time, but if you FTP your pictures it will import the entire directory.

I’m using Zenphoto and it works really good,
and it′s simple to integrate themes with wordpress

I’ll try Plogger it looks great too

I’m new to WordPress, needed a nice gallery to integrate into my WordPress theme (Prozac). I wanted to be able to upload images using ftp and have a multiple folder hierarchy.

After trying half a dozen galleries, I selected Lazyest Gallery. At first I moved on, because it caused problems with my theme. But I went back and got incredibly nice support from the author.

He solved the theme issue with code in no time at all, and is going to incorporate changes into future releases. I am using the 0.9.0 beta with no problems, although I am not using advanced features b/c I don’t need them.

Different galleries fit different purposes. This one fit mine and works very nicely.

I’m looking for a gallery replacement for 4images. I really love 4images. But it’s taking my server down when I have high traffic days. And since installing WordPress on the server it seems to be happening more often and I’m pretty sure that 4images is the more mysql intensive one of the two.

If you have a suggestion on how to improve 4images or streamline it, let me know.

Otherwise I’m looking for a gallery system capable of sustaining easily 20K photos sorted into many nested categories.
