• Has anyone been successful in implementing Cool Weather 2.0 plugin?

I have seen it in action on other sites, and it looks very nice. I tried to implement it on my site, but I have been unsuccessful. “Out of the box,” there is no way this plug-in will ever work because it sets itself up in a folder “cool-weather” but references itself throughout the plugin as having a “coolweather” folder (without the dash). I am guessing that fixing this will solve the problem, and I have gotten further along, but it still won’t work.

It lets me select a city, then just says “Loading…”

Any advice? Also, if you have it working, I would also like to be able to have it fixed on one city, rather than having the user select a place and then cookie-ing them. I would like to use it as a “weather where I am” tool, and be able to fix the city.

    Thanks,
    Ray

  • new version published!

    Hi andot
I have just installed the plugin but it mistakes the result based on the searched cities. As an example I have inserted Rome (look with your eyes here) and it localizes like South Africa while Rome is Italy-Europe.
Same thing for Paris, London ect…
It’s only my problem or is there an error into the script?
    Thx

    Hi urbelab,
It’s the new PHPRPC server’s mistake, it should to return all locations’ information, but now it only return the first location. this mistake will be fixed today, you need not to do anything, you will find it will be right later.
    Thank you for your feedback!

    @andot
Perfect. Infact this morning it’s all ok!! Look here. Great plugin andot.
    Thank you very much

With CoolWeather 2.1, this error resulted when I entered “Thousand Oaks, CA” as the location for Cool Weather:

    1:Traceback (most recent call last): File “/base/data/home/apps/phprpc-weather4/1.330782579603236450/phprpc/__init__.py”, line 562, in __call phpformat.serialize(self.__methods[func](*args)), File “/base/data/home/apps/phprpc-weather4/1.330782579603236450/main.py”, line 32, in get_location result = urlfetch.fetch(url) File “/base/python_lib/versions/1/google/appengine/api/urlfetch.py”, line 273, in fetch raise DownloadError(str(e)) DownloadError: ApplicationError: 5

Python is installed on the server. What else is missing?

    thanks
