• I had a cool plugin feature idea that would solve my issue and make your plugin even more powerful.

So by default we have one affiliate link url.

What if you could add “country detect” feature and then allow on the product a custom field for other countries affiliate codes.

The main frustration here is for webmasters like myself in the UK who want to predominantly market to our own country but are not against affiliate sales abroad. However many big firms use different affiliate programs for their different nationality sites and these programs seldom communicate to pass over the referring sites data.

If I could detect if they were in the UK or US or other countries and have the redirect take them to the correct website that would be awesome.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

So in the end I achieved this another way, by taking the woocommerce templates and putting them in my active theme then using “Custom Content By Country” plugin and its shortcodes to show affiliate link a) to all apart from people in the USA, and affiliate link b) to those in the USA. The issue is that my American link is of course stored in a new custom field, and thus the redirect plugin does not apply. Could there be a way in the plugin settings for you to insert the name of another custom field and have this plugin allow it to work on secondary affiliate links?

    Thanks

You might be able to hook into another WooCommerce filter (if one exists) that would pull the external URL from a different field. I’m not sure if that hook exists or not but if it does, then it should work.
