CookieYes v 3.0.9 blocks servers 5 seconds+ before page loads

I’ve been spending a week working on addressing performance issues with my website, trying to understand how my staging site with zero cache was loading faster than my production site with Cloudflare, WP Rocket and hosted on a performing server (of course I tried and disabled all caching plugin to try and debug my prod website).

The major issue was that when opening a random page on my website (even my lightweight homepage), the server would take 5-6 seconds before triggering a response and loading the page. Since the problem was not coming from my hosting service (which has excellent performance), I checked with the plugins.

While deactivating my plugins one by one to try and find the culprit, I discovered that when CookieYes is enabled, it prevents my webpage from loading (5-6 seconds waiting time, until the server replies). My homepage, which is rather lightweight, loads in 5-6 seconds instead of 1 second when the plugin is active. As soon as I deactivate it, my page loads in less than a second.

I reported the same issue back in November 2022. You mentioned back then that “In our most recent update, we changed the CSS and JS files folder to “legacy.” While you were checking it, your caching plugin did not create a new cache for these files. As a result, it slowed down your website.” Could this be the issue again? Would you recommend me to completely delete CookieYes v3.0.9, and install it again?
