    Hi,

I manage several websites and have installed the free version of CookieYes on all of them with no issues.

Today I have installed and configured on a site which initially seemed to work but not long after the client noticed that lots of the images on several pages were not loading, a Typeform had stopped working , functionality issues, text missing etc. I deactivated the plugin and the site started to function normally again.

The difference between this site and the others is that it has Cloudflare configured. I don’t know anything about how Cloudflare works but does it need to be configured to allow CookieYes to work?

Additional information: I had a few problems setting this up in the first place in that I accidentally set up with an incorrect email address so didn’t have access to verify the plugin. I deleted the plugin and started again with the correct email address but it kept telling me that the Cookie banner status wasn’t active and that I needed to add code BUT with the disclaimer that if I was using the plugin then I shouldn’t need the code – got stuck in a loop. As it wasn’t working I tried adding the code and it did in fact then say that the Cookie banner status was active. I was nervous about continuing with the code as I’ve never needed it before and removed it. The cookie banner status remained active and I continued to configure the settings, then as per above the site after a while stopped working properly.

I’ve had to deactivate the plugin as the client asked me to so not sure whether you can interrogate it.

    Many thanks

    Hi @fatcacky

    Greetings from CookieYes!

It appears the issue is due to our plugin categorizing certain cookies, such as those used by Typeform or other embedded content, as “unnecessary.” When the plugin blocks these cookies by default, it can prevent specific site elements, like images or embedded forms, from loading properly.

To resolve this, you can adjust the settings to allow these cookies:

    • Review Cookie Categories: Go to CookieYes > Cookie Manager > Cookie List and check the cookies being blocked. Look for any related to images, Typeform, or other essential functions.
    • Reclassify Necessary Cookies: If you identify cookies essential for your site’s functionality, you can reclassify them as “necessary” so they’re allowed by default. This way, critical functionalities won’t be blocked by the plugin.

When reclassifying cookies to the “necessary” category, please ensure they don’t store any personal information about visitors. Also, consider seeking legal advice to confirm you’re meeting GDPR and other relevant compliance requirements.

Please let us know if you can try reactivating the plugin and making these adjustments. We’d be happy to assist with further steps if needed.

Hi, thanks for you help. Just wanted to reply in case anyone else had the same issue. I did resolve this by re-classifying the Typeform cookies as Necessary. I have since contacted Typeform to ask if the cookies store personal information but they haven’t come back with a satisfactory reply as yet.

I’ll update this call if they get back to me with an answer.

For completeness, Typeform have said this:

” No it does not actually store the users personal information if the Typeform is embedded on the website. Cookies are small text files that store information on your browser about what you did on our website. They don’t let us see any of your computer content but they do let us give you a better on-site experience. “
