    Hi Im in the process of updating my privacy and cookie policy, I use your plugin on my website and I hoping you could help me by answering the following questions:

    1. Does your plugin store any form of cookies on visitors machines or after they’ve performed a certain action?
    2. Following question 1 if the answer is yes what kind and for what purpose?
    3. Does any of the information received get processed by you if so can you provide the details of the processor.
    4. How long the cookies are stored for.

    Hi @realitymanifestation, I understand you have some questions related to the privacy policy. Per our developers, the answers will depend on how you configure the plugin, but iTSec has integrated with the WordPress Privacy Policy generator, which should give you accurate information about this. Please go to WP Admin > Settings > Privacy > Policy Guide and click iThemes Security. I hope this helps, and please let me know if you need anything else!

    Thank you that’s very useful, what about cookies what cookies do you store/add so I know what to put in my cookie policy.

    Hi @realitymanifestation,

    It seems (based on the information provided in the plugin policy as added to the WordPress privacy policy guide) that there is only one module that creates a cookie. And that is the Hide Backend module. So if you enable this module, a cookie section will be included in the plugin policy as added to the WordPress privacy policy guide.

    @shanedelierrr

    It seems the PRO plugin adds a cookie section to the plugin policy which is related to the reCaptcha module. But I noticed there are 2 other modules that also create cookies and for which no cookie sections are currently included in the plugin policy. These are the Magic Links and pro-two-factor modules.

    Additionally I found the login interstitial and (PRO) fingerprinting code to create cookies. If not already I think a reevaluation of the plugin privacy policy guide is needed. Would be nice if this gets sorted in the upcoming Solid Security (Pro) release ??

    Hi @nlpro, thank you for answering @realitymanifestation’s follow-up question! As for the missing cookie sections and re-evaluation of the Privacy Policy for iTSec Pro, I’ve forwarded these to our team for checking. I appreciate the heads-up!

    So are you going to get back to me about this? thanks

    Hi, @realitymanifestation, as mentioned by nlpro, if you enable the Hide Backend?module, iTSec will create a temporary login cookie, and a “Cookies” section in the privacy policy guide will be added to provide information. But if you aren’t using this feature, the plugin won’t be storing/adding any cookies. I hope this answers your question!
