Hi, we configured Complianz with Tag Manager with the 4 complianz triggers (functional, marketing, preferences, statistics). As we are in Quebec, everything is off by default. If I accept, Google Analytics (GA4 and UA) is fired correctly. If I deny it after, it seems that they are not fired (validated with Google Tag Assistant), but the cookies associated are still in the cookie list of the browser. Is it normal ? You can see a screen capture of the cookies list after denying all cookies in the link.

    Thanks !

    Hi @ubeo,

After revoking consent, the tags will indeed no longer fire; so that these scripts are not executed anymore. However, as the banner was previously accepted; the cookies had therefore already been set in the browser of your visitor.

Note that while it might not be required to actively remove previously set cookies from the browser of your visitor; you can do it with Complianz.

Enabling the Consent per Service (+ CookieShredder) functionality under Wizard > Consent > Services > Do you want to use ‘Consent per Service’? will allow you to do so.

This checks the individual browser cookies against your cookie list (synced with CookieDatabase.org) to check if the user’s consent level is in accordance with the set cookies. If not, those cookies are deleted.

This article under the section “An example with a WordPress Login Cookie” goes into further detail on how it works: https://complianz.io/introducing-the-cookieshredder/

    Kind regards, Jarno
