    Hello –
I have been using your plugin for quite a while and it has generally worked great. I currently have a popup that displays only on the homepage, with a time-delay/auto-open trigger set. This part works great and exactly as expected.

I then created a cookie that is set to be placed when the popup closes, and has a duration of 1 year. However, this cookie was not keeping the popup from opening again when the homepage loads. I tested in multiple browsers, all of which I confirmed are not blocking cookies. Still no luck.

Then, I created a cookie with the same parameters, except for this one is to be placed when the popup opens. This did not work either. However, I also could not find a way to delete the previous cookie that I’d created on popup close, so I now have two different cookies with unique names, although I am only calling one of these cookies in my popup at this point (the one set to be placed at popup open).

Therefore, my first question is: how can I delete a cookie that’s already been created? I didn’t find any information on this in the docs, nor did I see anything within the cookie settings.

Next, I’m wondering why the cookie that I’m setting seems to have no effect in stopping the popup from showing after the cookie is supposed to have been placed. I’ve looked through the documentation on this as well, but haven’t been able to find anything that I’m doing wrong or differently from the documentation that would cause this not to work as expected.

Please let me know if there is any further information you need from me in order to help me get this resolved.

    Thank you!

    Hi @jbslettebak ,

    Thanks for reaching out.

[1. how can I delete a cookie that’s already been created?]
You can delete a Popup Trigger cookie by clicking on the “X” on the far-right of the cookie.

    See this demo: https://share.zight.com/Wnu6wqP6

[2. I’m wondering why the cookie that I’m setting seems to have no effect in stopping the popup from showing]
A possible cause is if the cookie is not linked to the trigger.

    See: https://share.zight.com/d5u2zDe1

When a cookie is created, it also has to be linked to the trigger you want it to work with.

    See: https://share.zight.com/eDuEn9gP

Could you please confirm that the cookie is linked to the trigger?

Here’s a related guide on Set and Link a Cookie When Editing an Existing Trigger:
    https://docs.wppopupmaker.com/article/358-popup-settings-box-cookies-option-settings#set_and_link_cookie_to_existing_trigger

We’ll look forward to your feedback.

Thank you very much for your response. I ended up creating a new popup with the same settings and then everything worked. I’m sure I had something set incorrectly.

Regarding deleting cookies – your screenshot helped a lot, because on the backend of my site those “x” buttons that you click to delete the cookie are white on a white background, which is why I wasn’t seeing them. Now that I know they’re there, I’ll be good to go.

I appreciate the information and the screenshots you posted, this is all very helpful. I will mark this issue as resolved now.

    Thanks!
