I have a site with Polylang enabled. I could not add the same slug for the categories even using “Quick Edit”. The slug gets changed to analytics-en. So instead, I just translated all cookies and added the english cookies to analytics-en and the german cookies to analytics-de. I then added the GA script to both analytics categories. This works in that GA is not loaded until you “Accept All”. However, if I then go into the settings and unselect “Analytics” the cookies remain. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Also, is it possible to block YouTube videos in the free version? I have an advertisement category but I don’t know what script to add to block YouTube videos.

    Thanks!

    Hi @lyeffeth,

    Greetings from CookieYes!

The plugin is designed to accept different slug names for the categories. Keep the slug name, for example, ‘analytics’, in the default site language for the Analytics category. In all other languages, for instance, in German, add the slug name in the format ‘analytics-de’.

You should add the GA script to the Analytics category of the default site language only and not paste the code in the translated category.

The free version is not capable of blocking Youtube embeds. Since it is not a script, the free version cannot stop it through the category either.

Let us know if there is anything else!

I removed the analytics code from the second language but this didn’t change anything. I am still having the same problem. If I accept all cookies the analytics cookies show up, as expected. Then if I go back in to manage my consent and disable analytics, nothing happens. The GA cookies are still present. If I reload the page or go to another page, they are still present. If I switch languages, it seems to reset and they are no longer present. But now that I have removed the tracking code for the second language, accepting all doesn’t do anything at all in that language.
