• In the last month my web designer and I developed a simple website in WordPress, and I had no issues with login to WordPress on latest versions of Safari, FireFox, Brave or Chrome.

Oddly enough, once the site went live (or shortly thereafter) I get an error each time I try to login to WP via Safari 13.0.5: “ERROR: Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser. You must enable cookies to use WordPress.”

Then without doing anything else, I repeat login again, and it works.

Quit browser or machine restart and next time I have the login error again, followed by a 2nd successful login.

    Safari has cookies are enabled.
the only Extension is Bitwarden and that wasn’t a problem before.

In Safari Prefs, I’ve only check marked “Prevent Cross-Site Tracking”
Those same settings never a problem in the previous weeks, all on latest Mac OS X 10.15.3

I’ve seen other forum posts dealing with this, but the comments were closed and it was marked resolved – although I didn’t see anything current enough or applicable to my situation. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Try:
manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    – If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

If the above trouble shooting steps do not help, then check error logs or, try Enabling debugging

    Side note to @wpallthetime ,

Please do not jump into other topics and detract from their problem. If the troubleshooting already posted made no difference for you, then, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. A lot more people will see your post, and that way you stand a good chance of getting the assistance you want. Despite any similarity in symptoms, your issue is likely to be completely different because of possible differences in physical servers, accounts, hosts, plugins, theme, configurations, etc. Thus one problem, on one setup is not indicative of the functionality and reliability of an application as a whole.

    I’ll be archiving your post.
