    Hi.

I have a GDPR plugin to implement the European Laws in General Data Protection.

I have seen that your plugin install four cookies, two in the same domain than my web (__atuvc and __atuvs) and two more in external Domain s7.adthis.com (loc and uvc).

I need to know how to block that cookies, so that first of all consult if my user gave his consent and later unblock the cookies (if he agreed).

Also, I need that you tell me how to block the external domain, so i think that is a security risk than other domain collect information outside my web.

    Thank you,

    Hi there,

The AddThis cookie is “dropped” upon an end user visiting a publisher site. Certain consent tools allow for cookies to be suspended (or “not dropped”) if the user has not consented to cookies on the site. Publishers are encouraged to seek consent tools that are appropriate given their particular business needs.

In terms of blocking external domains, we recommend that you consult your webmaster/developer in performing this task.

    Thanks,
    Leland

    Hi.

I am my webmaster and developer. Because of it, i noticed that there was a cookie that is created in external domain.

So, one of the questions, in the role of chief data protection of muy web is to know for what that two cookies for (loco and uvc).

    Can you explain me, please?

The ‘loc’ is a geolocation cookie and the ‘uvc’ is a cookie that tracks the user’s view count.

Both cookies are still coming from the parent domain addthis.com.

    Thanks,
    Leland
