You are correct, this is the most-likely explanation for the behavior.

Now that you have German configured as the Site Language, resetting the banner by navigating to Complianz > Cookie Banner and clicking “Reset to default” once, should cause these fields to have the ‘default’ German applied.

(Note: using the “Reset to default” button will reset both banner styles and texts)

That’s strange, I just tried this on an environment that was initially configured with the Site Language in English and set to German (Sie) later, and this instantly did the trick on that environment.

In any case, if that method doesn’t seem to work on your end, you can always find the default German texts for the Cookie Banner on this page (by entering a part of the English version in the search bar), and manually enter these in the fields under Complianz > Cookie Banner.
