    Hi there,

I’m having some issues with Google Translate on my page but I’m not sure if those are related to the cookies settings.

The problem is that the first time you use the tool for translating a page it works as expected, but if you refresh or change the language the text returns to the original version.

After having a look at this topic I manually added both googtrans and googtransopt on Complianz, but the result is the same on my end.

So I suspect that perhaps the problem comes from another place, like Autoptimize or Cloudflare.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi @cperez500

I just visited your website in two different browsers, accepted and denied the cookies, and changed the language multiple times. But I always see the expected language on the page. I will therefore also ask some other people to visit and test your website.
Do you still encounter these problems?

Note: Because of the serious privacy concerns with the Google translate widget, and because Google has already deprecated the widget in 2019, we now advise all websites to no longer use the Google Translate widget and choose a local, and self-hosted alternative like Polylang or WPML.

    Thanks for your help Mathieu.

I’ve just tested the same url (https://caralingroup-com.translate.goog/noticias/caralin-group-crea-nueva-division-real-estate-luxury-homes/?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=es&_x_tr_pto=wapp) again with Opera and also with Firefox, both on private browsing.

In Opera it works the same as before for me, that is, the page shows the translated text before accepting the cookies, after that, reloading the page or changing the language makes it return to the original version.

With Firefox I just get the untranslated version no matter what.

Although the page includes the translation widget, which indeed seems to be working fine, the issue itself comes when trying to make the translation through the page translate.google.com. I mean, going to that page and inserting an url.

Sorry if I did not make myself clear.

    Hi @cperez500,

As this behavior occurs when translating your website on a third-party domain (translate.goog) instead of your own domain, I wouldn’t assume Complianz to have an influence on this.

Perhaps you could check if the issue persists when you temporarily disable the Complianz plugin on your website, and then try translating the same URL once more. That would tell you whether Complianz is related or not.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

Thanks @jarnovos, I didn’t think about doing that.
You are right, after deactivating Complianz the issue still remains, so I guess I’ll have to keep searching.

    Regards
