    Hi,

I just set up CookieYes and everything seems to work great except for one thing.
The cookie_after_accept -shortcode is not working.
I tried simply pasting it into classic editor:
    [cookie_after_accept]Your Content goes here… [/cookie_after_accept]
Strangely I noticed it appears different whether I’m logged or not.
Publicly, not logged, the “Your Content goes here…” -message never appears neither with our without cookies accepted. However if I view the page logged in as admin the “Your Content goes here…” -message always appears (either with our without cookies accepted).
Other shortcode like [cookie_audit] works fine as expected.
    Our webhost is WP Engine.
Any idea what could be causing this?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I would prefer not to send URL publicly.
Do you know if [cookie_after_accept] wrapping -functionality is compatible with WP Engine hosting?

To clarify, if I’m viewing a page with [cookie_after_accept]Content goes here[/cookie_after_accept] publicly (not logged in) then it does not matter if I have accepted all cookies or not, the “Content goes here” will not appear.

However if I view the same page logged as admin then “Content goes here” will always appear regardless if I have accepted all cookies or not.

When I try another shortcode like [cookie_audit] this works fine.

Is there anything I could try?

    Thanks!

    Hi again,

I just tried again on completely fresh install with nothing but latest WordPress, default theme and CookieYes -plugin on WP Engine shared hosting PHP 8.
It still behaves as described above.
Is there anything I could ask WP Engine to alter? or anything else I could try to make it work?

    Thanks!

    Hi @aggk,

We request you to try after enabling the “Reload after Accept button click” from GDPR Cookie Consent > Settings > General > Others and let us know if it works for you.

    Hi again,

I just tried this but it has no effect.
Is there anywhere I could send you a private link if you like to investigate further?
The site is a test-install “completely vanilla”, with nothing but Cookie Yes GDPR Cookie Consent.

    Thanks!

    Hi @aggk,

We checked the issue in our testing environment and found that this shortcode is not working because of caching in the WP engine cache. Could you please try to disable the cache?

    Hi,

I’m not sure if it’s even possible to disable server cache on WP Engine.
But it definitely sounds like a cache related issue.
Do you see any solution to this in the near future?

    Thanks!

    Hi @aggk,

We have added this to our backlogs. We hope to bring a solution to it within the plugin in our future updates.

    Hi again,

I just wanted to follow up, if you had a chance to look into this further?

Is there something specific I could ask WP Engine to exclude from cache?

    Thanks!
