I am using the Jetpack Cookie Widget. The problem I am facing is that even after the user Accepts the cookie, the widget is being displayed for a slight second on the second and further page loads on any page. Seems like the Javascript or function to remove the cookie after the user has accepted the consent is being loaded later in the page load. It t is not due to the Javascript minification or differing features of my cachin plugin. I tried disabling both FastCGI and WP-Rocket cache and the issue is still there.

So, could you please tell me which function/variable is used to remove the cookie widget after user has accepted the consent? Or any other workaround for this?

    Hi there!

Have you tried temporarily disabling all plugins except Jetpack to see if that helps? If it does, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

To make it easier, you can install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

Also, please share the URL of your site so that we can have a closer look.

Yes, I checked with every plugin on my site disabled. The problem is not any plugin conflict. It is just that Jetpack’s script to remove the banner from the already accepted viewer is delaying (or any function isn’t working as expected.)

Found that the issue is happening only on Genesis Framework based themes. What could be the possible cause of the issue (so that I could diagnose further)? The order of script loading or anything like that? It is working fine on other themes. Just tried switching the themes.

Here are some examples you can take a look (please use Ctrl + Shift + R to see the problem as some sites are extremely fast that you cannot notice the cookie notice appearing.)

It’s possible that their themes aren’t compatible with the latest update of Jetpack. I assume you have installed the most recent version of Jetpack? I would reach out to Genesis and ask if they know about the problem.

Yes. I am using the latest versions of both Jetpack and Genesis. Please reach them out and if possible suggest me a possible solution. As it is a widely used theme, many will benefit from this. Thanks.

Since we do not own a copy of the theme, we do not have a way to reach out to them.

Have you reported this to them?
