I block all traffic from the UK and outside the US from a few sites. Therefore no need for the compliance. However, with the upcoming cookie blocking and launch of the new FINGERPRINTING systems from Firefox, Apple and even Chrome soon, I would like to force cookies ON. i.e. Ensure that all affiliate cookies are stored. No Cookies… No soup for you. A redirect to a page would be fine.

    Hi @tmrmarketing,

If you configure Complianz for the US, cookies will not be blocked until the user revokes his or her consent via the ‘Revoke consent’ button in the cookie banner. The cookie banner is only used to inform the user about the use of cookies and the accept button dismisses the banner. If you are only targeting visitors from the US and configure Complianz this is compliant with the CCPA. No need to place a cookiewall, as cookies are placed without consent.

If you do not wish to provide the option to revoke consent/block cookies, you can disable the cookie blocker via Complianz -> settings.

    does that answer your question?

    Kind regards,
    Leon

Yes and no… many browsers now auto block cookies of all kinds. If their browser is blocking… I don’t want them to access the website.
    Make sense?

It’s a premium plugin idea I and MANY would gladly pay for since the result is lost revenue.

    Hi @tmrmarketing,

This would mean overriding browser settings.

I just checked with Firefox, this is how it works:

    1. Strictest privacy settings in Firefox.
    2. Visit website without cookie blocker -> Cookies will be blocked by the browser.
    3. If the user “accepts” cookies on the website -> newly accepted cookies will be blocked by the browser.
    4. The browser always takes precedent. This is the correct behavior because users have revoked their consent by changing their general privacy settings.

If you want to block users with these settings I think a solution similar to the “AdBlock” wall is more appropriate, which detects a browser extension/setting. I don’t know if it exists. A privacy plugin won’t force cookies, neglecting the browser settings.

I think Leon’s solution would take care of 99%+ users.

    Hope this helps,
    regards Aert
