    Hey there,

i have 2 questions. i’d be plesed if you could reply them both.

the plug in pretty much shortens the full length amazon detail page link to an id and asin. normal amazon links (the long ones) makes you earn commision when in 24 hours the user buys anything else from amazon. does this shortened link also do the same thing in terms of cookie expiration standarts?

will you consider writing another script which redirects european visitors to co.uk instead of com? for instance users from finland get redirected to com, but it would be more advantageous for them to get reidirected to co.uk. only british users get redirected to co.uk. that’s a big commision loss if you have european visitos who don’t have local amazon store.

    any help is appreciated,

    thanks.

    Hi,

As far as I know the shortened links behave in the same way as the full ones. That’s something you should check with Amazon though.

With regards to redirects where the local country has no Amazon store, unfortunately everyone seems to have different opinions on what country should redirect to where – for instance, you say Finnish people should go the UK site – but why not the German or French site which are geographically closer? Everyone has different opinions on this so it’s best to just leave it to direct to the originally linked site.

    thanks for the answer Pete,

for instance there’s a plugin called az-one, which hasn’t been updated for 2 years, and you can set up every country differently in there according to your (admin’s) choice. but that plugin no longer works with current amazon links. maybe you wanna check that out? i believe, that way, your plugin would be perfect.

don’t get me wrong, i’m very pleased right now with it. this is just a suggestion for perfection. you could even offer it as a premium plugin.

Yes that’s a nice idea. I’ll definitely add it to the list of ideas for a premium version.
