    Hi,
Today I met a problem with Password protected: I logged in to the protected website. Afterwards, I closed the page. When I opened a new window and went to the site, it was still open. No protection. I even closed the browser window (I did not shut down the browser, though) it was still open….after cleaning the cache the password requirement reappeared.

Does the plugin set its own cookie? In that case, what do I do?

  • Yes, the plugin sets a cookie which is valid for 2 days.
I’m thinking of swapping this to just be for a single session by default with the filter to adjust it.

Thanks, I think that would be wise. When do you plan to do this change?

I noticed there was an update today. I thought the cookie problem was solved in this edition, but it acted just like it did before the update. I shut down all browsers, cleaned the cache, but the page was unprotected after re-opening.

Today’s release was to update a few other features and fixes that have been hanging around for a while.

I’ll take a look at changing the default cookie duration as another minor release, soon.

Ok, forgive me for being so pushy ??

Another vote for this feature! I find it is confusing for people with the 2-day duration and I think per session would be much better.

This cookie issue still seems to be present. Once I login to the password protected site I can’t log out, and subsequent visits to the site take me right to the home page without asking for a pwd.

I’ve also just run into this cookie issue. While it’s good to know exactly how long it lasts (it’s still 2 days, right?), a configurable setting in the plugin would be even better! Any news greatly appreciated ??
