• Hello,

I have a question about cookies.

On our page, the table of contents is displayed expanded when you visit the page for the first time.

The aim should be that the table of contents is also displayed collapsed on other pages after it has been collapsed by user.

I have seen that the cookie ezTOC-hidetoc-X is set to 1 when the button for collapsing is clicked.

If I now open another page (via the navigation), the cookie ensures that the table of contents is displayed collapsed.
Up to this point everything is correct.

However, when I check the cookies, I find that the cookie ezTOC-hidetoc-X has been deleted.
This happens via the wp-content/easy-table-of-contents/assets/js/front.js (line 69 or 74 – plugin version 2.0.45) – I have checked this.

Since the cookie is now deleted, the table of contents is displayed expanded again when the next (third) page is called up.

    Why is that?
Is there a setting that prevents this?

    Thanks a lot !

    Hello Magazine3,

    thank you for your answer.

The TOC should be expanded when the website is opened initially.
It should also remain unfolded when the user moves to other subpages.

However, if the user decides to close the TOC (he collapses the TOC by clicking on it), then the TOC should also remain closed when calling up other subpages.

If the user later decides to unfold the TOC again, then the TOC should also be unfolded again on other subpages.

    In summary:
The status folded or unfolded should simply be saved across the navigation of subpages.

    Thanks ?? !

Hi, First of all thank you for the detailed information.

    1. The TOC should be expanded when the website is opened initially.
Actually in TOC, If we disable the initial view then the table of contents will be expanded when the website is opened initially: https://prnt.sc/Sj2AzI4i9vwh
    2. It should also remain unfolded when the user moves to other subpages — Currently, this type of feature is not available in TOC. We have to set based on our requirement in the setup initial view.

However, if the user decides to close the TOC (he collapses the TOC by clicking on it, then the TOC should also remain closed when calling up other subpages & If the user later decides to unfold the TOC again, then the TOC should also be unfolded again on other subpages– Yes but its always depends on how the initial view option is we selected in setup.

It all depends on how we use the initial view option. If the initial view option is enabled then the table of contents is hidden initially. and if we disable then it’s expanded initially. We have to set based our preferences.

    Hello

I have investigated it more closely today. The feature I mentioned was still available in plugin version 2.0.16. It is no longer available in the current version 2.0.45.

I am wondering why this feature was deliberately removed, or was it an oversight?

Moreover, it makes it difficult for me right now. Of course, I could try to build a workaround to bypass the plugin functionality. But if the feature is then reinstalled or changed, my workaround might cause problems again.

If it was an oversight, can’t you take another look at the feature and fix it if necessary?

Thank you very much for your help
