I posted this elsewhere earlier then realized it was in a resolved issue, but similar topic.

Thanks for the great script. However, I found that the cookie consent panel doesn’t go away after pressing “Accept” on a Samsung 7 phone. It went away on my LG-V20 and on my HP Laptop. Any idea why it wouldn’t accept the consent on the Samsung 7? I disabled it for now since the panel was blocking the page.

    Thanks!

  • Strange. Do you have any active caching plugin?

Yes, I use autoptimize and Sitegrounds SG Cache is activated.

Oddly, as stated before under the comment consent box not showing issue, I’m not able to see the comment consent box on my HP laptop with Windows 10 or on my LG-V20 but my Samsung tablet does show it. I’m using Chrome on all of these devices. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You shouldn’t use Siteground SG Cache as this causes many problems on WordPress sites. Autoptimize with W3 Total Cache is good enough.

    The checkbox is there: https://imgur.com/a/sGR8bTF

    Hey,

Hristo from SG and one of the SG Optimizer caching plugin authors. Would you elaborate what do you mean by “Siteground SG Cache as this causes many problems on WordPress sites”?

If there are any particular problems that your plugins is experiencing with others, I would be more than happy to discuss them with you and fix them.

Thanks for checking it out Donny.
What kind of device did you use to view my comment consent checkbox?

As I mentioned earlier it shows up on my Samsung tablet but not on my HP laptop and LG-V20 phone.

Also, the issue of the consent panel not going away is still not resolved on the Samsung 7 phone. I found that the cookie consent panel doesn’t go away after pressing “Accept” on a Samsung 7 phone. It went away on my LG-V20 and on my HP Laptop. Any idea why it wouldn’t accept the consent on the Samsung 7?

    Thanks again!

@littlebytes your newsletter popup closes the cookie bar notice which isn’t the way that’s supposed to work. It incorrectly adds a:

cookie_notice_accepted = true cookie to visitors browsers.

After refresh it doesn’t show. That’s not a problem with the SiteGround caching but a combination of the newsletter popup and the cookie bar. Probably it’s closed without the cookie to be written on that particular device. Unfortunatelly, I couldn’t find such phone in the office to recreate it ??

Thanks for your input @hristo. I’ll have to check if disabling the newsletter pop-up makes a difference on the Samsung 7 phone. It’s odd though since the cookie consent panel goes away after accepting it on my HP laptop and LG phone, but not the Samsung 7.
