Hi, first of all – great plugin!

I am often facing issues where the cookie consent button does not respond on the first click, but I need to hit it twice before it disappears.

I have already tried the option to load it in the header instead of footer, but that did not helped. The same behaviour was reproduced on two different websites and templates.

The website is loaded when the consent is shown and users might be confused by this behaviour.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello @mufimufin,
excuse me for the late reply and thank you for posting..

Could you tell me the sites on which you are facing these issues?
This will allow me to make some checks.

You could write to dev[at]smartcookiekit[dot]com or reply to this post.

    Thank you, Nicola.

I have tried to send an email, but it was not delivered (your server returned it). Do you have any other email address, please?

I found a DNS related problem for the mail service… Could you try with the temporary dev[at]nicolamodugno[dot]it please?

You should have it in your mailbox. Thanks.

    Hello @mufimufin!
Could you check if the new version of the plugin solves the “timing” problem you initially reported?
    Thank you!

    Hi,

    unfortunately still the same problem.

    STR:
    Open the page
Try to click on the button right away (its not disabled)
Click 4-5 times => nothing happens
Page is fully loaded => next click works

I have the header option checked, so the code should be loaded first.

    Regards

@mufimufin have you updated the plugin?

    Yes I did.

@mufimufin I see the old banner on the site…
Did you disable the “legacy mode” of the plugin?
Please be sure to clear site cache..

    (@mufimufin)

    Cache was cleared as well.

I have not disabled the legacy mode. Its disabled now and the behaviour described within this ticket is better.

It also seems that many things are different now and I will have to reconfigure the look and feel (incl. text content) from the scratch.

Since I have many WordPress sites – this means that I should not update the plugin there unless I want to reconfigure everything manually tomorrow (25.5), right?

Also is there any option how to get rid of that green bar after the user confirms that he wants cookies to be used on the website? I have not found such option in the plugin settings.

Thank you for the great service!

I did the “legacy mode” to run the old configuration.

Since the update process will be after the 25, yes you are right.

Thanks, what about the cookie settings button – can it be hidden under some conditions? I do not want to bother the user if he confirms the consent. He can still delete cookies. Some checkbox in the admin area would be nice.
