Cookie banner not showing

It looks like the css file is not generated:

The file:
https://gengob.org/wp-content/uploads/complianz/css/banner-1-optin.css

does not exist.

This could mean you have write protected your uploads directory. Can you check if that is the case?

As of 6.0.1, the plugin shows a warning about this in the dashboard.

Uploads folder is on 755 and it has folders from other plugins

If you have the latest version, and no warning concerning the uploads folder, please save the cookie banner settings and see if this helps.

I’ve saved the settings and it doesn’t show. It doesn’t show in the preview of the cookie banner settings either. And I also tried disabling everything with Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin, only having Complianz active and it didn’t work.

You might have already checked this, but for good measure, could you please verify if the complianz folder within the /uploads/ directory is also writable?

As the issue seems to be that the CSS file on your website is not reachable, and instead results in a “404 Not Found” page. You can see that 404 page if you visit this URL: https://gengob.org/wp-content/uploads/complianz/css/banner-1-optin.css?v=26

But if you compare this to my testing environment, you will see that a CSS file is being shown instead of the 404 page: https://free6.us2.instawp.xyz/wp-content/uploads/complianz/css/banner-1-optin.css

I forgot to say. Yes I’ve checked and there is no Complianz folder inside /uploads/

Normally a refresh in the dashboard would write a missing folder to the /uploads/ folder.

You can try adding complianz as a folder, with a folder css inside, but it seems unlikely. There’s seems to be an issue with writing folders/files to the uploads folder.

As the writing permissions are fine, it could be a security plugin or a WordPress configuration that might disallow it. Do you have a security plugin, or a non-standard WordPress configuration?

Can you put the permissions on the uploads folder to 644 to see if it works then?

It’s a strange problem. In the maintime I’ve tried to upload an image, which it did apparently, but there is no 2022 folder in uploads. So I think something is blocking uploads.
I’m in touch with my hosting to see if they can find the problem
