Cookie banner keeps reappearing

    Hi,

    I’m having an issue where the cookie banner keeps reappearing every time the site is visited or the visitor goes to another page on the site. This issue is not happening for everybody (it’s not happening for me for example), but it does seem to be happening for other people. Do you have any idea what might be causing this?

    I also have the same issue, only seems to be happening on mobile.

    Happening all the time if in incognito (chrome)

    Or if you leave the page idle for 10-15 mins

    Very frustrating.

    I visited your site on desktop, iOS and Android, but I could not reproduce your issue.

    Could you be a little more specific on how to reproduce the issue? Does the banner reappear when starting a new session? Or within the same session?

    It’s hit in miss in ‘normal’ browsing mode

    – open a new Chrome incognito window on a mobile phone
    – browse to any url on my site
    – cookie pop-up appears
    – accept
    – using the burger menu navigate to a category page
    – navigate to post
    – (all fine at this stage)
    – let the page sit for 5-10 mins (ie like you are reading it)
    – navigate away from that page but within the site (if you click the logo it will take you back to the homepage)
    – cookie consent appears
    – accept
    – navigate to any other page
    – cookie consent appears
    – accept
    (Now it will appear on each new refresh or new URL navigated to)

    Here I followed your steps, but I can’t seem to reproduce the issues.

    Do you have a specific browser/phone combo I can try?

    Thanks for looking into this Aert – it a bugger as it doesn’t happen all the time (as per the personal persons remarks)

    I am using a Google Pixel 4 XL. Running Android 11, Chrome 86.0.4240.99

    Have you tried the same in incognito – as it happens all the time (70-90%)

    (also worrying why the background imagine wasn’t logging on the home page – just the text, I will have to look into that)

    Hi @wscontent,

    I will do the exact set-up with your phone, but I don’t know if it will make a difference. We use browserstack.com for these purposes and every test is on a brand new environment without previous caching or history.
