    Hi,

I have a website in Italian language, and I have translated the cookie banner content in Italian.
However, my site has also an English version for which I would need to show up the same cookie banner in English language.
I’m already using a translation plugin (Polylang).

    Is there any tutorial available?

    Thanks

    Roberto

    Hi @robertojobet,

    This is possible, of course!

Please find an article details=ing the steps to translate the Legal Documents as well as your Cookie Banner with the PolyLang plugin attached: https://complianz.io/translate-legal-documents-to-multiple-languages-with-polylang/

    Hope this helps!
    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @jarnovos

In plugin’s settings section, I translated all content in Italian, and now the cookie banner is showing up in Italian as expected.
I’ve noticed however, that when visiting our site’s English version, the cookie banner shows up in English automatically, with the default English text.

I presume therefore, that the instructions above for Polylang are useful only if I want to have custom translations of the default English text, is it so?

    Kind regards,
    Roberto

    Hi again,

Reading carefully the Polylang instructions, I found out that all cookie banner strings, are already extracted by Polylang, so there’s no need to translate those strings in plugin’s settings section, but to translate them through Polylang string translations instead!

BTW I have also another query about cookie banner strings, and that is, the “Cookie policy” and “Privacy statement” links at the bottom of the banner.

    1) Since the Italian translations of both links are not correct, is there any way to update them?

    2) In both links I entered the actual URLs of both cookie policy and privacy policy pages of my Italian site.
The problem is that the same URLs show up in the English cookie banner as well.
    Am I missing something?

    Hi @jarnovos

    Any clue?

    Hi @robertojobet,

Could you try setting these documents to “Link to custom page” under Complianz > Wizard > Documents and select the original English version of the document?

And then, as long as you had duplicated that document to the desired language (as per the provided instructions in the PolyLang article): the titles and URL’s of those links in the banner will adapt to the currently selected language.

You can see my example here, the Cookie Policy link and title in the banner will change based on the language version that you are viewing:

    English (default language): https://poly-123.instawp.xyz/
    German: https://poly-123.instawp.xyz/de/home/

    Kind regards,
    Jarno
