Just wondering if anyone else is having trouble using cooked shortcodes in elementor pro? Some of them work like [cooked-image] but the codes with the actual text in them just show up blank, like [cooked-ingredients]. If I use these shortcodes without elementor they work fine.

I was hoping to use elementor to layout my recipes, as I find that easiest. Is this a problem in the pro version if I buy it?

Shortcodes like [cooked-ingredients] will not work outside the recipe template itself. They are meant to be used within the recipe. Once you create your recipe and include the shortcodes you want to use within it. You can display this recipe (using Elementor or not) by using the single recipe shortcode:

    [cooked-recipe id=”123″]

Where “123” is the id of the recipe. I have a test page set up here (using Elementor) showing that it works:

    https://cooked.pro/elementor-test-page/

PS – Please, if you could update your 1-star review, I would really appreciate it!

PSS – Even if the shortcodes didn’t work with Elementor, I don’t personally feel that a 1-star review is really fair, as the issue is a conflict with a third-party plugin.

    Thanks!

I’m creating the template for recipes using elementor. Not separate posts or pages. I want to play around with the positioning of the different elements, and find that easiest within elementor.

I know I’m creating the template properly and it’s being tied to the individual recipes because I can get [cookrd-image] and [cooked-info] to show up, but not other elements like ingredients and directions. It’s strange.

Not interested in just reposting the entire template created regularly. I’m trying to create the template using elementor.

Okay, I understand what you’re saying, but Cooked doesn’t support using Elementor to build the template, you need to use the Template editor on the recipe edit screen to change the template.

Either way though, I will certainly look into getting it to play nice with Elementor in a future update!

Please do consider changing your 1-star rating. Those ratings can really hurt, especially when unwarranted (in my opinion). Thanks!

Thank you for the consideration. If it becomes fully compatible with elementor, I’d buy pro in a hear beat. I like the overall user interface of Cooked better than competing plugins, but in the other plugins with short codes I can fully implement the short codes into elementor. That’s what’s holding me back. Keep me posted if you fix this issue.

You make a good case for the unwarranted rating. Sorry, I made it after hours of frustration trying to get the shortcodes to work. I will update it.

The latest version 1.5.3 includes Elementor support. ??
