    Hello.

I’m using Basil theme with Cooked (Pro) plugin for 5+ years and I’m really satisfied that plugin is now being maintained again. Thanks for this!

However, with recent plugin updates, I noticed and issue/conflict with recipes and default WordPress archive page.

My page for recipes list/archive correctly uses shortcode [cooked-browse]. However, instead of showing Cooked recipes list, as set in plugin settings, page displays WordPress default posts archive.

Looks like custom post type “recepti” (recipes) is treated as WP default post type.

If I create a new page with [cooked-browse] shortcode, then recipe archive is correctly displayed using Cooked plugin formatting. Unfortunatelly I cannot change recipes permalinks as this would affect my SEO.

This conflict is also present when trying to search for recipes – search results are returned as default WP post types, not as Cooked recipe post type.

    Examples:

    https://stefkinedobrote.si/recepti/
    https://stefkinedobrote.si/recepti/?cooked_search_s=potica

    Screenshots: https://i.postimg.cc/XJ3XkhQy/cooked-error-archives.jpg

    Desired outcome:

Webpage https://stefkinedobrote.si/recepti/, which is using [cooked-browse] shortcode, should display Cooked plugin formatted recipes archive, not WordPress post archive.

Let me know if you need any more info.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

@kopovsky Hello there. This should not be happening. I noticed something from your screenshot. It looks to me like the [cooked-browse] shortcode is not inside a “shotcode” block. I think due to this, the shortcode is not interpreted as a shortcode.

Additionally, can you check if the page with the [cooked-browse] shortcode is also set in the Cooked Settings for “Browse/Search Recipes Page” in /wp-admin/admin.php?page=cooked_settings

I also wanted to mention that I have new updates to the Basil theme as well since you are using it. Basil was taken down from the envato marketplace a while ago but I am working on getting it back up and hopefully any existing customers will continue to receive updates. I am sending you the updated version via email.

Thanks for quick answer and suggestions. Unfortunatelly I checked again and even copied HTML code and the issue is still the same. Shortcodes are the same, check screenshot: https://i.postimg.cc/mDtskTbT/shortcodes.jpg

Webpage https://stefkinedobrote.si/recepti/ opens default WP post archive page.

Webpage https://stefkinedobrote.si/recepti-seznam/ correctly opens Cooked recipes list.

Can you please explain more where can I check if the page with the [cooked-browse] shortcode is also set in the Cooked Settings for “Browse/Search Recipes Page” in /wp-admin/admin.php?page=cooked_settings? In WordPress settings menu I cannot find this option.

Thank you, will consider also theme update, but I’m not sure if this issue theme version related.

@kopovsky No this is not theme related at all, but since you are using Basil I figured you could use the latest updates.

As for the settings that should be in https://stefkinedobrote.si/wp-admin/admin.php?page=cooked_settings

Its the first field labeled “Browse/Search Recipes Page”.

Thanks, I now switched this settings to newly created page https://stefkinedobrote.si/recepti-seznam/ with cooked-browse shortcode and now recipes search works correctly!

However, it is really strange as the shortcode is identical on page https://stefkinedobrote.si/recepti/ but this one opens default WP post archive list.

Any other ideas why this may be happening? I could create redirect from /recepti page to /recepti-seznam, but it’s not ideal solution as it may also affect SEO.

    Thanks for help!

I just tested this and it should work both ways.

Can you check if the page is set as the ‘Posts page:’ in https://stefkinedobrote.si/wp-admin/options-reading.php

    (@kopovsky)

What is also strange is that if I change the URL to https://stefkinedobrote.si/recepti2/ , webpage opens correctly with Cooked recipe list. Looks like WordPress somehow treats /recepti post type as post archive …

@kopovsky It seems like something could be conflicting with Cooked. Can you join the Discord server here: https://discord.gg/qdGwXaXxc6 if you have Discord.

I can better assist you there and we can post screenshots for easier communication.

Homepage is set as static page, but this is on purpose, I don’t want there to open wordpress posts: https://i.postimg.cc/RZWCq1Gk/2024-09-15-21-26-27.jpg

@kopovsky Hey there, it looks like your issue is resolved right? If you can confirm that I can also mark this issue as resolved. Thank you.

Issue still present, but probably not Cooked plugin related, so we can close this issue, yes.
