Converting wordpress.com to www.remarpro.com

  • Hello! I am so glad you are here to help me. I am not a computer programmer and am not sure how to proceed. I am looking for the easiest way to convert my https://www.shifttheworldwithjessandgrace.wordpress.com site to www.remarpro.com and then finally have it hosted under https://www.shifttheworld.com. I have tried reading the tutorials, but no luck.

    Also, I tried to determine the version of wordpress I am using, but it wasn’t on the administration panel as the tutorial said it should be. We began our blog at the end of December 2009. I do not know if I have performed any updates.

  • Do you want adds or other things the WordPress.com Terms of Service say you can’t do? If not you can have your new address mapped to your existing WordPress.com blog. If you just want a new look WordPress.com just came out with their 100th Theme.

    Version numbers on WordPress.com are not important they are 3.something. It is the regular WordPress software modified a bit for their special needs. They have many more Widgets than a standard Theme.

    Next step for self hosting. Install www.remarpro.com software. Many hosts offer a script or one button install. You mention a tutorial, they should cover part of that.

    After you are up and running, export your old blog and import it into your new blog. WordPress.com has some nice guides on shifting, there are some here but I misplaced them (sorry).
