Converting Website completely with WordPress

Hi All,
I just started setting up a blog and have been working on modifying a template (Paalam by Sadish. I have a website (www.phidesign.ca) that I use. I have placed my developing blog in https://www.phidesign/blog. Is it difficult to use WP to make a website similar to my existing one? How long would it take for a competent WP progrmmer to do this? It seems if I am going to run a WP blog I might as well just convert my existing website?
