Converting to WordPress a Database

As I said in another post, I’m converting my content from a custom made CMS into WordPress. However, I want it to be as less hassle as possible.

Is there a file that I can include in my conversion script, that I can then use functions from to filter the content I have, as if I was entering all of the posts via the wp-admin?
