Converting PNG and JPG to AVIF

  • Hello dear,
    can you please add an option to automatically convert images on upload to AVIF and add a fallback option for browser that are not compatible with AVIF images ?? it will be a nice idea if there is a library that handle AVIF images without using GD or Imagick library !!

    Hey @zmayyem !

    It sounds like to make a whole other plugin ??

    I know that Squoosh can convert images to webp and to avif formats, but it requires quite a time to integrate it in WordPress media library. Don’t worry though, it’s on my TODO list, so as soon as I have time I will get into it ??
