    Hello,

After trying to convert my images a few times, it seems as though no image conversions are happening or the plugin isn’t properly working.

    – The Dev Tools is not showing ‘WebP’ for any image in the “Type” columns.
    – No images in the upload folders show a file type of “webp o avif”. all are still jpeg and avif. Is the upload folders whee the converted files would live?
    – The plugin. is reporting files being converteed.

I am using WP Engine. I notice that when i run the converter some of the image paths are not what I would expect. For example I see the following:

12:22:59 - Image "/nas/content/live/unchainedpodc/wp-content/uploads/thrive-visual-editor/user_templates/Unchained-live-youtube.png" converted to .avif is larger than original and converted .avif file has been deleted.

I’m wondering if WP Engine configurations are set up wrong?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

More specifically, is there a link to the exact NGiNX rule for WP Engine, and does it make sense to publish a tutorial online for WP ENGINE since most of the tech support people can reference this?

    Update:

So i do see the new uploads folder,
(didn’t realize it created a new uplaods folder)

But when checking the network tab, all the file types are still showing as type of ‘octet-stream’ for jpgs, pngs, etc. not ‘webp’

    Hello @primorudy10,

    Thanks for your message.

From what I can see, images in WebP format are correctly displayed on your website. The problem is with the AVIF format, where “application/octet-stream” appears instead of “image/avif”.

This is about hosting on WP Engine, I know this situation .I reported this to WP Engine and I am waiting for this matter to be resolved for now. You don’t have to worry about it though, it doesn’t cause any problem. Images work fine.

    Best,
    Mateusz
