convert wp.com to wpmu

  • I am currently running a wordpress.com blog, and would like to make it one of many blogs in a wordpress MU network. Is it possible to make this conversion? I don’t want to commit to getting hosting for a new MU network unless I know I can do this.

    I’m sorry if this is the wrong forum for this question.

  • Yes, it is possible. You need to export your old blog, install WPMU on a hosting server, create a new blog on it, and import your blog data into that blog.

    I’ve actually since decided to convert to wp.org instead of wpmu, but the same thing applied so thanks
