Convert Uppercase to Lowercase

    Hello
    The active language of my website is Persian and the urls are encoded.
    There are many 404 errors in GSC.


    Google registers the URL in capital letters and gives a 404 error as a result.
    /%D9%85%DA%A9%D9%85%D9%84-%D9%87%D8%A7%DB%8C-%D9%BE%D9%88%D8%B3%D8%AA-%D9 %85%D9%88-%D9%88-%D9%86%D8%A7%D8%AE%D9%86/

    But the correct urls are in lowercase letters.
    /%d9%85%da%a9%d9%85%d9%84-%d9%87%d8%a7%db%8c-%d9%be%d9%88%d8%b3%d8%aa-%d9 %85%d9%88-%d9%88-%d9%86%d8%a7%d8%ae%d9%86/

    But the following results were received.

    After installing the LH Force Lowercase URLs plugin, the result is Page fetch error Failed: Redirect error

    When I request the inspection of the Internet address, the result is Page fetch error Failed: Not found (404).

    Hello @pendaresh,

    That is quite expected because the “LH Force Lowercase URLs” plugin tends to redirect the uppercase URL to the lowercase URL version. If the URL is now loading properly without any 404s, please make sure that the correct URL version is currently used as your internal links across your website.

    All URLs are correct and do not have 404 errors
    But the Google bot still returns a 404 error as a result.
    Note . Google misidentifies the URL with uppercase letters.

    Hello @pendaresh,

    Please check the crawling date, if the crawling date is outdated, then Google has yet to update the report. You would need to wait a bit for the report to be updated.

    If the date is recent, please submit the URLs from the Google report to the URL inspection tool and check for the referring page. You may share a screenshot of the report coming from the URL inspection tool.

    I found the cause of the problem
    When I disable “Remove category base”, this result is correct.
    But I tend to enable Remove category base.

    Also, the issue is not related to the Remove Category Base option as we checked one page URL, and it returns the same error when Google tries to crawl it: https://i.rankmath.com/i/15BQHx

    The issue is present only when using Google Smartphone Bot. If you test the page with the Desktop Bot, it works fine: https://i.rankmath.com/i/AIC6Sp

    Please check your site & server’s configuration with your host to confirm that URL encoding is the same for mobile and desktop versions.
