convert to blocks problem

Hi Guys, Please help. I am updating an older site to the new block editor. When I open the post to edit and I click the “Convert to blocks” box my whole page becomes one big block and I cannot insert other elements in the space. This does not happen on allmy posts that I am converting but just random ones now and again. How do I fix this, thanks, Janek
