• When i started using wordpress awhile back i didn’t really know what i was doing. I made all my entries “posts” instead of “pages”, but they really should be pages, i’m changing my site around to do that, but i would really like to keep my old posts, is there any way to convert the “posts” into “pages”?

  • Well, if you “convert” them, they won’t be posts anymore. Just copy and paste into a Page the posts that you meant to be Pages. And leave the others alone? Without seeing your site, I’m not following exactly.

The site is https://living-abomination.stufftoread.com – basically what I did was write all my articles and put them up as “posts”, but they’re not really chronological like posts are. so what i want to do is take those “posts” and make them “articles”. The only reason I want to convert them is to save the permissions and the viewed count. I may be able to do it by screwing with the SQL database. I’m hesitant to do that though as i seem to have a habit of breaking SQL databases.

    Thanks

you could try alex kings articles plugin. Set the articles page as your home page and then the posts can stay as they are with all information in tact.

you can see how the page would look here https://alexking.org/articles

    and download the plugin here

My plugin, just recently updated, will convert your posts to pages without the copy paste hassle: p2pConverter. You can learn more about it at https://www.briandgoad.com/blog.

    Hope this helps!
