• I have a client who’s site is plain HTML/CSS. There is a tiny bit of PHP to process a newsletter signup & contact form & the e-commerce goes through One Shopping Cart. She also has a WP blog that is linked to in the navigation. The only maintenance I do on the blog are header/footer changes.

She has been meeting with a new marketing person & this person is advising her to make her home page a WP page. She can’t afford to convert her entire site, so she just wants to do the one page.

I work on other WP sites, but they are entirely WP. How difficult will this be to set up & maintain?

What content would she want manageable (through the dashboard) on the Home page?

She wants to control all of the content.

Currently she has a couple of sliders & some text. She knows how to FTP the slider images to the correct folder & where & how to change the slider file names. The slider is very simple & doesn’t support links or video. She wants to add a slider that supports these things & take over the updating & maintenance of the home page, & do it all through the dashboard.

I don’t think she’ll be able to have the navigation menu manageable, but the rest she can do. You should take a look at the Theme Development Guidelines.
